Our Story
To help the community understand and access ADAS functions, Austroads has created Australia’s first ADAS information centre.
This is a dedicated resource making searchable and easy-to-understand information easily accessible to consumers.
Through short videos and plain language summaries, we explain common ADAS features, like lane keeping, parking assist and blind spot alert, so consumers understand what they do, what they don’t do, and how to use them to maximise the benefits of the technology in their vehicle or know what to ask for when they next buy or rent.
The ADAS project is an Austroads safety initiative supported by Austroads members.
1. Educate consumers, drivers and the wider community about the benefits of ADAS functions to understand what they do and how to use them properly
2. Improve road safety by having more vehicles using ADAS’ ability to prevent and avoid collisions, and
3. Motivate consumers to seek further information, making ADAS part of the purchasing decision when renting, leasing or buying a vehicle.
